How to use?
1.Use the events that happened in the past and ends in the past
Example : Bob arrived at 9 o'clock yesterday.
Mary bought a new car last Sunday.
2.Use the action happens to be a habit or routine in the past.
It does not happen at present
Example : They always played football last year.
She swam every night last week.
